Luke 16
16:1 And He [Jesus Christ] said also unto [To] His disciples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; [A manager, treasurer, or a preacher] and the same [The steward] was accused unto [By] him [By the rich man] that he had wasted his goods.
[In other words the rich man accused the steward of stealing from him.]
2 And he [The rich man] called him, and said unto [To] him, How is it that I hear this of thee? [You] give an account of thy [Your] stewardship; [In other words show me what you have been doing.] for thou [You] mayest [May not] be no longer steward.
[The rich man is going to check out the stewards books.]
3 Then the steward [The manager, treasurer, or preacher] said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh [Takes] away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.
[The steward is thinking about what he is going to do if the rich man gets rid of him.]
4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.
[In other words the steward decides to do what he can to buy himself some friends.]
5 So he called every one of his lord’s debtors unto him, and said unto [To] the first, How much owest thou [Do you owe] unto [To] my lord?
6 And he said, An hundred measures of oil. And he [The steward] said unto him, Take thy [Your] bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty. [Cut it in half]
7 Then said he [The steward said] to another, And how much owest thou? [How much do you owe?] And he said, An hundred measures of wheat. And he [The steward] said unto [To] him, Take thy [Your] bill, and write fourscore. [Write 80 measures of wheat instead of 100.]
8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, [Manager, treasurer, or preacher] [For being smart] because he had done wisely: [He did wisely in worldly things.] for the children of this world [World of worldly things] are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
[In other words the children of worldly things are wiser to do evil then the children of light, but stupid to go against Yahveh’s [God’s] laws.]
[The children of light are children of the word. They are children who put Jesus Christ first in their lives by doing His will. We are all Yahveh’s [God’s] children. Some are children of the world, [Worldly things] and some are children of light.]
9 And I [Jesus Christ] say unto [To] you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon [Wealth] of unrighteousness; that, when ye [You] fail, [You fail when you fail to do what Yahveh wants you to do.] they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
[Everlasting habitations meaning into the tents of hell.]
[If you make yourself rich with ill-gotten gains you will end up where the rich man, rich from ill-gotten gains ended up as written of in St. Luke 16:19-31, and you will be in a libel to die condition until The Great White Throne Judgment which takes place over one thousand years after Jesus Christ returns to Earth.
There is nothing wrong with being rich if you do it Yahveh’s [God’s] way. Don’t steal from people and don’t misrepresent things you are selling, or take advantage of people.]
10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
[In other words if your crooked you’re crooked and if you’re honest, you’re honest.]
11 If therefore ye [You] have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, [In other words if you have been faithful in you getting of ill-gotten gains] who will commit to your trust the true riches?
[True riches come from Yahveh. Yahveh [God] won’t trust you with anything if you’re crooked. He is sure not going to trust you with His word.]
12 And if ye [You] have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, [In other words if you haven’t taken care of what another man has trusted you with.] who shall give you that which is your own?
[Yahveh [God] is not going to give you anything if you haven’t taken care of what another man has trusted you with. He has things for you but if you are a thief he isn’t going to give them to you]
[As you can see being honest is very important. To misrepresent something you are going to sell such as a car, a house, or other material things is dishonest and results in ill-gotten gains. You have seen in the previous verses what Yahveh [God] thinks of such ill-gotten gains so be careful that you don’t become involved in dishonesty.]
13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye [You] cannot serve God and mammon. [Ill-gotten gains]
[In other words be honest. There is no way you can serve Yahveh [God] and be crooked because Yahveh [God] will not accept you.]
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, [Covetous meaning they loved their money and worldly material things.] heard all these things: and they derided [Sneered at] him.
[They sneered at our Lord Jesus Christ because they didn’t like what he said. It struck to close to home.]
15 And He [Jesus Christ] said unto [To] them, Ye [You] are they which justify yourselves before men; [In other words you make yourselves to look good before men.] but God knoweth [Knows] your hearts: [He knows what your think and what you are doing.] for that which is highly esteemed [Thought of] among men is abomination in the sight of God.
[In other words those that take the lofty seat [They think they are so great] and rip people off in the name of Yahveh [God] are an abomination to Yahveh.]
[Abomination means that they are detested by Yahveh [God] and He is disgusted by them.]
16 The law and the prophets were until John: [John the Baptist was the last prophet.] since that time the kingdom [The King and His dominion] of God is preached, [Taught] and every man presseth [Works towards it or is seized.] into it.
[Mankind has to press [Work or be seized] to enter the Kingdom of Yahveh.]
17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, [This earth age will pass.] than one tittle of the law to fail.
[A tittle is the least part of a Hebrew letter.]
[Yahveh’s [God’s] law will not fail. Yahveh’s [God’s] law written in the Old Testament including His food laws are still in effect. Not even the least particle of one letter of Yahveh’s [God’s] law fails to be in effect. It will not pass away before the end of this earth age or Heaven age and the Heaven age coming may never pass.]
18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth [Marries] another, committeth [Commits] adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth [Commits] adultery.
[The most evil adultery you can commit is to turn away from your Father Yahveh. [God] He will never leave you or forsake you if you put Him first in your life.]
[Verse nineteen thru verse thirty tells us what is going to happen to people who fail to put Jesus Christ first in their lives by doing His will. Keep in mind we are all sinners in one way or another and it is Yahveh’s [God’s] will we repent of any sins we commit and ask Him for forgiveness in the name of Yahshua.[Jesus Christ] Also keep in mind the instant your flesh body dies you go into your spiritual body.]
19 There was a certain rich man, [He was rich from ill-gotten gains] which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
[In other words he had the best of everything.]
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, [The word Lazarus meaning who God helps.] which was laid at his [The rich mans] gate, [Begging gate] full of sores,
[Lazarus was a beggar.]
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: [The man fed his dogs but wouldn’t feed Lazarus.] moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[Lazarus was in bad shape. The dogs had more compassion for him then the rich man.]
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: [Take note here Abraham is alive.] the rich man also died, [His flesh body died and his spirit went into his spiritual body.] and was buried;
[The rich man’s spiritual body went to hell in the gulf.]
[Because of what I have learned from the Bible it is my opinion people who go to hell [Hell is where the rich man is] will be there until Jesus Christ returns to earth as Lord of lords and King of kings to rule with a rod of iron.]
[The following is fact. After Jesus Christ returns there will be a one thousand year teaching period to teach people who failed to put Jesus Christ first in their lives by doing His will. They will be taught discipline. After the one thousand years satan will be turned loose for a short season to test those who were taught during the one thousand years. After satan’s short season The Great White Throne Judgment will take place. Souls [People] at that time will be judged to have eternal life or judged to suffer the second death. The second death is the death of a person’s soul. If a person’s soul dies they will cease to exist.]
23 And in hell he [The rich man] lift [Lifted] up his eyes, being in torments, [Torments meaning torture, but not physical torture. It is torture to be there in that condition because he now knows he could have been under the altar of Yahveh.] and seeth [Saw] Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
[The rich man can see soul’s [People] who overcome satan. People who put Yahveh [God] first in their lives while alive in their flesh bodies.]
24 And he cried [He cried out] and said, Father Abraham, have mercy [Compassion] on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou [You] in thy [Your] lifetime [When the rich man was in his flesh body] receivedst [Received] thy [Your] good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou [You] art [Are] tormented.
[It came payday for the rich man, it happens, when your flesh body dies its payday. What will you receive on your payday? Think about it. If you want to have a good payday put Jesus Christ in your life by doing His will while you are in your flesh body. His will is that you learn and become a doer of His word. If you learn and become a doer of His word you will receive blessings and rewards in Heaven and be raised up in the first resurrection. You will have already been judged to eternal life.]
26 And beside all this, between us [Between people who overcame satan by putting Yahveh [God] first in their lives by doing His will.] and you there is a great gulf fixed: [It’s a chasm, an impassable interval in time, a space, unmovable at this time. You can’t cross over an impassable interval.] so that they which would pass from hence [Here] to you cannot; [It is sealed] neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. [From where you are, from hell.]
27 Then he [The rich man] said, I pray thee [You] therefore, father, [Abraham] that thou [You] wouldest [Would] send him [Lazarus] to my father’s house:
[What the rich man is saying is if you can’t help me then help my family.]
28 For I have five brethren; [Brothers] that he may testify unto [To] them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
[The torment of being a failure, from shock, from embarrassment.]
29 Abraham saith [Said] unto [To] him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them [Your brothers] hear them.
[In other words your brothers have the written word of Yahveh, let them study it.]
30 And he [The rich man] said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto [To] them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he [Abraham] said unto [To] him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, [Even] though one rose from the dead.
[Jesus Christ rose from the dead and was not accepted.]
[Hell is not a good place to go. I hope that you do not go there. Most likely you are going to go [In your spiritual body] to one of two places when your flesh body dies. You are either going to go to what is called hell or under the altar of God.]
