41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation [Greeting] of Mary, the babe [John the Baptist] leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: [Holy Spirit]
[Yahveh [God] dwelt with mankind that day.]
42 And she spake [Spoke] out with a loud voice, [Actually It was the Holy Spirit speaking thru Elisabeth to Mary.] and said, Blessed art [Are] thou [You] among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy [Your] womb.
[The Holy Spirit was speaking of our Lord Jesus Christ.]
43 And whence [What] is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
[What Elisabeth is saying is who am I.]
44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy [Your] salutation [Greeting] sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.
[John the Baptist was happy.]
45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance [Completion] of those things which were told her from the Lord.
46 And Mary said, My soul doth [Does] magnify the Lord,
[Mary loved the Lord.]
47 And my spirit hath [Has] rejoiced [In other words it’s happy] in God my Saviour.
48 For He hath [Has] regarded the low estate of His handmaiden: [Slave] for, behold, from henceforth [From this day forward] all generations shall call me blessed.
[Mary would be called blessed Mary because Jesus Christ would be born from her womb.]
49 For He [Yahveh] that is mighty hath [Has] done to me great things; and holy is His name.
50 And His mercy [Love and compassion] is on them that fear [Love and revere] Him from generation to generation.
51 He hath [Has] shewed strength with His arm; He hath [Has] scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
[In other words He will let you do what you want to do, it is your choice.]
52 He hath [Has] put down the mighty from their seats, [As written in Romans 11:8 He gave them the spirit of slumber,[Stupor] eyes that they should not see and ears that should not hear.] and exalted [Lifted up] them of low degree.
[Yahveh [God] lifts up His Elect, His election, the humble ones.]
53 He hath [Has] filled the hungry with good things; [With truth in His word.] and the rich He hath [Has] sent empty away.
[In other words He sent people rich with ill-gotten gains away empty. To be empty is to be without Yahveh’s [God’s] word and Yahveh’s [God’s] Holy Spirit.]
54 He hath [Has] holpen [Help and support in] His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy; [Compassion]
[His servant Israel is Jacob whose name was changed to Israel and his descendents.]
55 As He spake [Spoke] to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed [Offspring] for ever.
56 And Mary abode [Stayed] with her [Elisabeth] about three months, and returned to her own house.
57 Now Elisabeth’s full time came that she should be delivered; [That she would deliver her baby] and she brought forth [Gave birth to] a son.
[He would be John the Baptist.]
58 And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed [Showed] great mercy [Compassion] upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
[They were happy because it was a miracle from Yahveh.]
59 And it came to pass, that on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
60 And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John.
61 And they said unto [To] her, There is none of thy [Your] kindred [Relatives] that is called by this name.
62 And they made signs to his father, [To Zacharias] how he would have him called.
[Zacharias still couldn’t talk.]
63 And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marveled [Wondered] all.
[They wondered why Zacharias named his son John.]
64 And his mouth [Zachariah’s mouth] was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, [Spoke] and praised God.
[Zacharias also talked about how the angel appeared, what he said, and what had happened.]
65 And fear came on all that dwelt [Lived] round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
[In other words it was the talk of the land.]
66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, [In other words they laid up in their minds what Zacharias had told them, they let it settle in real good.] saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him. [With John the Baptist.]
67 And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, [Holy Spirit] and prophesied, saying,
68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He hath [Has] visited and redeemed His people,
[Zacharias said this because he knew the dispensation, and he knew the scripture.]
69 And hath [Has] raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
[Yahveh [God] raised up Jesus Christ to be saviour. Zacharias knew He was coming.]
70 As He [Yahveh] spake [Spoke] by the mouth of His holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
[Yahveh [God] told us about the coming of Jesus Christ in Jeremiah 23:5&6. Let’s go their.]
Jeremiah 23:5&6
5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, [Yahveh] that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, [The righteous branch is Jesus Christ.] and a King shall reign [Rule] and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
[Jesus Christ is Lord of lords and King of kings, and will rule with a rod of iron when He returns to earth at the beginning of the Lords day.]
6 In His days Judah [Judah is the tribe of the King line of Israel] shall be saved, and Israel [All 12 tribes] shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
[This hasn’t happened. It will happen when Jesus Christ returns on the Lords day. The Lords day is the 1000 year period between His return and when satan is turned loose for a short season to deceive whomsoever he will just before The Great White Throne Judgment. As it is written in 2 Peter 3:8, One day is with the Lord as a thousand years.]
[Let’s return to St Luke 1:71.]
[Zacharias is still prophesying in verse seventy one and will continue thru verse seventy nine]
71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, [Yahveh [God] keeps His promises.] and to remember His holy covenant; [Contract]
[Yahveh [God] keeps His promises, and remembers His covenant.]
73 The oath which He sware to our father Abraham,
[The oath is written in Genesis 12:2. Let’s go there.]
Genesis 12:2-3
2 And I will make of thee [You] a great nation, and I will bless thee, [You] and make thy [your] name great; and thou [You] shalt [Shall] be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, [You] and curse him that curseth [Curses] thee: [You] and in thee [You] shall all families of the earth be blessed.
[All the families of the earth are blesses because thru Abraham’s bloodline [Genealogy] Jesus Christ was born.]
[Let’s return to St. Luke 1:74.]
[Zacharias continues]
74 That He [Yahveh] would grant unto [To] us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life.
[In other words every day of our lives.]
[Righteousness is doing what is right according to Yahveh.]
[If you are putting Yahveh [God] first in your life by doing His will you have nothing to fear because He will take care of you.]
76 And thou, [You] child, [John the Baptist] shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: [The highest is Yahveh] for thou [You] shalt [Shall] go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways;
77 To give knowledge of salvation [Eternal life] unto [To] His people by the remission [Forgiveness] of their sins,
78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring [Dayspring meaning the raising Sun.] from on high hath [Has] visited us,
[Jesus Christ is the light of the world. Only through Jesus Christ can you be granted eternal life.]
79 To give light [His word] to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, [Without the Holy Spirit you are spiritually dead, libel to die.] to guide our feet into the way of peace.
[The only way you can have peace of mind is to have the Holy Spirit with you. If you want the Holy Spirit with you, you have to put Jesus Christ first in your life by doing His will. To learn what His will is you have to study His Bible and understand what is written. It is your choice.]
80 And the child grew, and waxed strong [Became powerful] in spirit, [In the spirit of Elijah] and was in the deserts [Country] till the day of his shewing [Showing] unto [To] Israel. [The twelve tribes of Israel.]
