St. Matthew
Most of the boxed words are added by Pastor John Gardner to teach the word of
Yahveh [God] to you as it is written in the King James Bible according to the Greek manuscripts from which the New Testament of the King James Bible was translated.
[St. Matthew was also called Levi. The name Matthew meaning gift of God [Yahveh] and Levi means joined. At the time Matthew was called by Jesus Christ to be a disciple. He was a tax collector.]
[In the book of St. Matthew our Lord Jesus Christ will be presented as Yahveh’s King.]
[The following genealogy is the genealogy of Joseph the husband of Mary the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is only the genealogy of Jesus Christ by adoption. It has nothing to do with the birth of Jesus Christ. As it is written in St. Matthew 1:23, Behold a virgin shall be with child. It is also written in Isaiah 7:14, Behold a virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel. [Immanuel meaning God [Yahveh] with us.]
[The genealogy of Jesus Christ is correctly given in the book of St. Luke.]
1:1 The book of the generation [Age, time] of Jesus Christ, the son of David, [King David] the son of Abraham.
[Jesus Christ is known as the son of King David because He was the offspring down thru the generations of King David. King David was the offspring of Abraham down thru the Generations of Abraham.]
[In 2nd Samuel 7:12 Jesus Christ was promised by Yahveh [God] through King David. Let’s go there.]
2 Samuel 7
12 And when thy [Your] days be fulfilled, [King David’s days] and thou [You] shalt [Shall] sleep with thy [Your] fathers, I will set up thy [Your] seed after thee, [You] which shall proceed out of thy [Your] bowels, and I will establish His [Jesus Christ’s] kingdom.
13 He [Jesus Christ] shall build an house for My name, and I will stablish [Establish] the throne of His kingdom for ever.
[Let’s return to St. Matthew 1:2.]
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
[Judah and his eleven brothers would make up the natural twelve tribes of Israel.]
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;
6 And Jesse [King David’s father] begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
[Soloman was born of Bathsheba.]
[Jesus Christ was not of the blood line of Solomon; we will document this later.]
7 And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;
8 And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;
9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
[Verses two though sixteen is the genealogy [Bloodline] of Joseph. Joseph had no part in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.]
[The genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ is given in St. Luke chapter three. Solomon will not be in that genealogy. You will see there Jesus Christ came through King David’s son Nathan.]
[Mary the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ was of the daughters of Aaron the head of the Levitical priesthood. We know this because in St. Luke 1:36 we are told Elisabeth is Mary’s cousin and St. Luke 1:5 tells us Elisabeth is of the daughters of Aaron.]
[Mary and Joseph were more then likely 1st cousins. Jacob Mary’s father and Heli Joseph’s father were brothers. They were both of the tribe of Judah the King line of the twelve tribes of Israel. Mary would have married according to the law given to Moses by Yahveh. The law is written in Numbers 36:8. Let’s go there.]
Numbers 36
8 And every daughter, that possesseth [possesses] an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers.
[As it is written in Isaiah 11:1 there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots. [This would be our Lord Jesus Christ.]
[Mary’s genealogy was one half of the tribe of Judah the King line of the 12 tribes of Israel and one half of the tribe of Levi the priest line of the twelve tribes of Israel. Because of this the King line and the Priest line were joined as one. Jesus Christ is Lord of lords and King of kings.]
[The genealogy [Bloodline] of our Lord Jesus Christ was pure all the way back to Adam and Eve.]
[Let’s return to St. Matthew 1:17.]
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: [Wise meaning in this way.] When as His mother Mary was espoused to [Going to marry, engaged to] Joseph, before they came together, [Before they had intercourse.] she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. [Holy Spirit]
[In Isaiah 7:14 we are told by Yahveh [God] approximately 712 years before it happened a virgin shall conceive. Let’s go there.]
Isaiah 7
14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
[The son would be Jesus Christ, Yahveh [God] with us in a flesh body.]
[Let’s return to St. Matthew 1:19.]
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, [Just man meaning righteous, holy, absolutely or relatively.] and not willing to make her a publick [Public] example, was minded to put her away privily. [Privately, secretly]
20 But while he [Joseph] thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord [The angel of the Lord is basically Yahveh [God] Himself.] appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou [You] son of David, fear not to take unto thee [Yourself] Mary thy [Your] wife: for that which is conceived [Procreated, regenerated] in her is of the Holy Ghost. [Holy Spirit]
[It should say Holy Spirit because Ghost is not written in the Greek manuscripts from which the King James Bible was translated.]
[Thou son of David meaning Joseph was of the tribe of Judah, the King line of the twelve tribes of Israel.]
21 And she shall bring forth [Bear, deliver] a son, and thou [You] shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.
[Jesus in the Hebrew language meaning Yahshua; meaning Yahveh all mighty God, savior.]
[The name Jesus meaning to save. Jesus Christ will save people from dying the second death because of their sins if they put Him first in their lives by doing His will. His will is for you to follow Him, learn His word, believe, and become a doer of His word. The second death is the death of your spiritual body. Your first death is the death of your flesh body.]
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled [Accomplished] which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth [Bear, deliver] a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God [Yahveh] with us.
[Jesus Christ was Yahveh [God] with us in a flesh body. You can document this by comparing St. John 1:1 and St. John 1:14.]
[Verse 23 was prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 by the great prophet Isaiah approximately 712 years before it happened.]
[In coming to earth as Jesus Christ God fulfilled his promise given to King David in 2 Samuel 7:12. Let’s go there.]
2 Samuel 7:12-13
12 And when thy days [King David’s days] be fulfilled, and thou [You] shalt sleep with thy [Your] fathers, I will set up thy [Your] seed after thee, [You] which shall proceed out of thy [Your] bowels, and I will establish His kingdom.
13 He shall build an house for My name, and I will stablish [Establish] the throne of His kingdom for ever.
[Jesus Christ’s kingdom is the Kingdom of Christianity. IF you put Jesus Christ first in your life by doing His will you are part of His kingdom.]
[Let’s return to St. Matthew 1:24]
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden [Told] him, and took unto him his wife:
[In other words Joseph married Mary.]
25 And knew her not [Knew her not meaning he didn’t have intercourse with her] till [Until] she had brought forth [Bear, delivered] her firstborn son: and he called His name JESUS.
[Jesus meaning Yahveh’s saviour, Yahshua. Yah is Yahweh, and Shua is saviour.]
