Hebrews 11
[Chapter Eleven is known as the faith Chapter. Faith is believing that Jesus Christ was the son of Yahveh. You either believe or you don’t. Without faith His promises don’t apply to you, and IF you don’t have faith you are spiritually dead at this time.]
11:1 Now faith is the substance [Deed to inherit] of things hoped for, the evidence [Facts, proof, truth] of things not seen.
[It is very important you have faith in Jesus Christ. Faith to know the promises He makes to you will happen if you are a doer of His word. It is His will for you to learn and become a doer of His word.]
2 For by it [By faith] the elders obtained a good report.
[It was known to them.]
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds [Three world ages, dispensations of time] were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. [You can’t see them.]
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he [Abel] being dead yet speaketh. [Speaks]
[By Abel having faith and righteous acts Abel is spiritually alive, not dead.]
[The instant your flesh body dies you go into your spiritual body, and go back to Yahveh [God] who gave you a spiritual body. Yahveh [God] is a God of the living not the dead. If you don’t have faith you can not inherit the promises of Yahveh [God] when your flesh body dies because you are spiritually dead.]
5 By faith Enoch was translated [Transported to Heaven] that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated [Transported] him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
[Enoch was a righteous man and Yahveh [God] blessed him because of it. Enoch prophesied as it is written in the book of Jude, verses 14-16. Let’s go there.]
Jude 1:14-17
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied [preached] of these, [Of the fallen angles] saying, Behold, the Lord cometh [Comes] with ten thousands of His saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince [Convict, to punish] all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him. [Against Yahveh]
16 These are murmurers, [Grumblers] complainers, [They are discontented.] walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh [Speaks] great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. [Advantage meaning benefit, profit.]
[Let’s return to Hebrews 11:6.]
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him: [Yahveh] for he that cometh [Comes] to God must believe that He [Yahveh] is, and that He [Yahveh] is a rewarder of them that diligently [Sincerely] seek Him.
[If you do what is right Yahveh [God] will bless you. It is impossible to please Yahveh [God] without faith in Jesus Christ. Without faith His promises don’t apply to you.]
7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, [Yahveh [God] warned him about the flood.] moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; [His family] by the which He condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
[All of the other Adamic people [The offspring of Adam] died in the flood. All the tribes created in Genesis 1:27 survived the flood because God told Noah to take two of every flesh into the ark. Noah’s family was the only family that did not mixed with the fallen angels.]
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither [Where] he went.
[Abraham didn’t know where he was going, but he had faith, and he knew if he obeyed Yahveh that Yahveh would bless him.]
9 By faith he sojourned [Lived] in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles [Tents] with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
[The same promises Yahveh [God] had made to him.]
10 For he looked for a city which hath [Has] foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara [Abraham’s wife] herself received strength to conceive seed, [She was 90 years old when she became pregnant.] and was delivered of a child when she was past age, [Past the age of child bearing.] because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
[Yahveh [God] told her she was going to give birth and she believed Him. Sara had faith.]
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, [Of Abraham’s son] and him [Abraham] as good as dead, [Abraham was 100 years old] so many [Offspring, people] as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. [Without number.]
[Abraham’s offspring are without number because of his son.]
13 These all died in faith, [Faith in believing and having faith in Yahveh] not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed [Acknowledged] that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
[They acknowledged that they were strangers and pilgrims on earth because in the flesh body this was not their permanent home or body.]
[The promises are the promise of the coming of our King Jesus Christ, the promise of sins being forgiven upon repentance, the promise you will be blessed if you believe in and obey Jesus Christ, the promise of rewards in Heaven, and the promise of eternal life.]
[While Jesus Christ was in the tomb He went to all those who died in the flesh all the way back to Adam and preached to them, offering salvation through having faith in Him. This is documented in 1 Peter 3:18&19. As it is written In Chapter Four He freed many of them because they had faith.]
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
[A country meaning a home with Yahveh.]
[We are strangers in this flesh body; our real body is a spiritual body. Yahveh [God] said let us make man in our image. You were with Him before. In St. John 3:3&7 Jesus Christ says you must be born again. Born again meaning to be born from above from Yahveh. Check it out in the great book of St. John.]
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence [where] they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. [They didn’t]
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath [Has] prepared for them a city.
[The city is New Jerusalem written of in Revelation chapter twenty one. Check it out.]
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, [Tested] offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
[Abraham offered up his son because Yahveh [God] told him to, and he had faith in Yahveh. This was a prelude to Yahveh [God] offering Jesus Christ on the cross. When Abraham was just about to slay his son with a knife Yahveh [God] gave him a ram caught in a bush to sacrifice instead of his son.]
18 Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy [Your] seed be called:
[Through Isaac would come the twelve tribes of Israel. Isaac’s sons are called Saxon’s. They would go north over the caucus mountains and would be called Caucasians. Ten of the tribes would settle Europe and later migrate to the North America.]
19 Accounting [Knowing] that God was able to raise him [Isaac] up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure
[Even though Sara was 90 years old and Abraham was a hundred years old. Yahveh [God] speaks and things happen.]
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
[Esau’s house [family] settled in Russia. Jacob’s offspring would become as the sands of the sea. There are thousand upon thousands of them.
21 By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.
[This is written of in Genesis 50:24&25. Joseph had faith Yahveh [God] would take His people to the land He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.]
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; [Blessed, fair] and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
[It was Pharaoh’s commandment that all babies born male were to cast into the river to drown.]
24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, [When he found out who he really was.] refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
[Moses wanted to be with his people; he didn’t care about being rich. He had faith knowing Yahveh [God] is forever and that flesh kings don’t live very long.]
25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction [Maltreatment] with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
[For a season meaning to enjoy the pleasures of sin for the short time we live in this flesh body.]
[We are Christians for the promises of Yahveh [God] as written in the Bible. For blessings in this flesh earth age and for blessings, rewards, and eternal life in Heaven with our Father. Moses considered this to be a far better deal then being rich for a season.]
26 Esteeming [Considering] the reproach [Being put down criticized, rebuked because] of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence [Payment] of the reward.
[In other words he knew his reward would be greater in Jesus Christ.]
27 By faith he forsook [Left] Egypt, not fearing the wrath [Anger] of the king: for he endured, as seeing Him who is invisible.
[Moses knew Yahveh [God] was there. He had faith that Yahveh [God] would lead them safely out of Egypt, and He had faith when Yahveh [God] used him to part the Red Sea.]
28 Through faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he [The death angel] that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
[Moses knew the death angel was coming because Yahveh [God] told him so, and he had faith it was going to happen so he sprinkled the blood of the lamb on the door posts, and the lintel of his door just as Yahveh [God] had told him to do and told the rest of his people to do the same. All of the firstborn died that night, but not those of Yahveh’s [God’s] chosen people. They didn’t die because they followed Yahveh’s [God’s] orders. It is written of in Exodus chapter twelve.]
29 By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying [Tried] to do were drowned.
[Yahveh [God] told Moses He was going to use him to part the Red Sea. Moses had faith in what Yahveh [God] told him and Yahveh [God] parted the Red Sea through Moses.]
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed [Surrounded] about [For] seven days.
[The people had faith in Yahveh. They did what they were told to do by Yahveh, and the walls fell down.]
31 By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
[Rahab had faith that because she saved the lives of Yahveh’s [God’s] people her and her family would be saved by Yahveh [God] when the Israelite’s destroyed the city, and so they were saved.]
32 And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
[In other words he wouldn’t have time to tell of their faith.]
33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought [Labored, worked for] righteousness, obtained promises, [Yahveh’s [God’s] promises] stopped the mouths of lions,
[They all had faith in Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]
34 Quenched the violence of fire, [In the case of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in chapter 3 of the book of Daniel.] escaped the edge of the sword, [In other words they were not slain with a sword.] out of weakness were made strong, waxed [Became] valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. [Hostile foreigners.]
35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; [They didn’t accept deliverance from being tortured by turning away from Yahveh [God] so they could live.] that they might obtain a better resurrection: [So they might have eternal life with Father Yahveh.]
[The first resurrection is for Yahveh’s [God’s] Elect of Revelation chapter twenty verse four, for souls who overcome satan, and for souls [People] who put Yahveh [God] first in their lives by doing His will in the first earth age that was and the earth age we are now in.]
[The second resurrection will be after people are judged at The Great White Throne Judgment. At that time they will either be judged to be resurrected to eternal life or judged to suffer the second death. The second death is the death of a person’s soul. A person’s first death is the death of their flesh body.]
[Let’s return to Hebrews 11:36.]
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, [Whippings] yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
[They had the trials because they believed in and had faith in Yahveh.]
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, [Sawed into] were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, [Poor] afflicted, tormented;
[This all happened to them because they had faith in Yahveh/Jesus Christ.]
38 [Of whom the world was not worthy:] [In other words the world was not worthy of them being in the world.] they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
[In other words they didn’t receive the promise of Jesus Christ because He did not appear in their life time.]
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
[In other words without Paul and Yahveh’s [God’s] twelve apostles and others we would not have learned about Jesus Christ, and could not be made perfect by repenting of our sins and asking Yahveh [God] for forgiveness in His name, washed clean by the blood He shed on the cross for us as individuals.]
[Yahveh [God] provided Jesus Christ for us so that through Him we can repent of our sins and be forgiven. He also did this for people who died in the flesh all the way back to Adam when he preached to them in prison the three days He was in the tomb as written in 1 Peter 3:18&19. As written in 1 Peter 4:6 they also had an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their savior.]
[All the people mentioned had faith in Yahveh, just as we must have faith in Jesus Christ to receive Yahveh’s [God’s] promises. The promises of blessings and rewards in this earth age today, and blessings and rewards and eternal life in Heaven in the earth age to come. In the earth age to come we will be in our spiritual bodies.]
