Hebrews 12
12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about [Encircled] with so great a cloud of witnesses, [Witnesses of Jesus Christ, those who know the truth, those that were there, and those who knew Him] let us lay aside every weight, [Anything that will hold you back from serving Jesus Christ to the fullest.] and the sin which doth [Does] so easily beset us, [Hold us up] and let us run with patience [Endurance] the race [Competition] that is set before us,
[The word cloud in verse twelve is a figure of speech which meaning to be gathered together in a large group. It means the same thing in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 which some people who are ignorant of the word of Yahveh [God] claim to be evidence of a rapture theory which is not true because there is no rapture of Yahveh’s [God’s] church. It is a figure of speech such as a cloud of dust or a cloud of locusts.]
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; [Jesus Christ is the reason we have faith.] who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, [Jesus Christ allowed the crucifixion with joy to save His children. He was happy to be crucified. He died on the cross for you.] despising the shame, [He despised the ignorance and malice of His despisers; He wasn’t shamed, they are.] and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
[Jesus Christ sat down on the mercy seat where He can give mercy to His witnesses who continue on working for Him.]
3 For consider Him that endured [Underwent, suffered] such contradiction [Dispute, strife] of sinners against Himself, lest ye [You] be wearied [Tired] and faint [Relax] in your minds.
[Think about what Jesus Christ did for you when He died on the cross. Keep working for Him, and don’t let up, don’t relax your minds.]
4 Ye [You] have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
[You haven’t been crucified, Jesus Christ was. He died on the cross because of sin so you can be forgiven upon repentance for your sins against Him.]
5 And ye [You] have forgotten the exhortation speaketh [Spoke] unto [To] you as unto [To] children, [Meaning the lifting up by example and teaching which is right, which gives correction and comfort.] My son, despise not thou [You] the chastening of the Lord, nor faint [Become discouraged] when thou [You] art [Are] rebuked [Corrected] of Him:
[Jesus Christ/Yahveh is your Father so don’t despise Him when He chastens [Corrects or punishes] you, and don’t faint when He rebukes [Corrects] you because He loves you and don’t want to see you hurt in any way. He doesn’t want you to suffer the second death. The second death would be the death of your soul and spiritual body after The Great White Throne Judgment.]
6 For whom the Lord loveth [Loves] He chasteneth, [He corrects] and scourgeth [Flogs literally or figuratively] every son whom He receiveth. [Receives]
[He straightens them out.]
7 If ye [You] endure chastening, [Correction] God dealeth [Deals] with you as with sons; [If you humbly take it] for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
[A father is supposed to correct his son to keep him on the right path of life.]
8 But if ye [You] be without chastisement, [Correction] whereof all are partakers, [Partakers of chastisement, Correction] then are ye [You] bastards, and not sons.
[Bastards are spurious children, not Yahveh’s. A person who is of satan or does the will of satan is a bastard.]
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: [Love and respect] shall we not much rather be in subjection [Obedience] unto the Father of spirits, [Yahveh] and live?
[In other words wouldn’t we rather do Yahveh’s [God’s] will, be subject to Him, and have eternal life?]
10 For they verily [Truly] for a few days chastened [Corrected] us after their own pleasure; [Or what our fathers thought was best] but He for our profit, [Yahveh [God] corrected us for our profit.] that we might be partakers of His holiness.
[Partakers of His holiness by doing His will and having eternal life with Him.]
11 Now no chastening [Correcting] for the present seemeth [Seems] to be joyous, but grievous: [It is not fun, it hurts] nevertheless afterward it yieldeth [Yield’s] the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
[In other words it brings righteousness to those who are corrected.]
12 Wherefore [Because of this] lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
13 And make straight paths for your feet, [In other words learn Yahveh’s [God’s] word, and be a doer of His word] lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; [So those who follow you keep on the right path.] but let it rather be healed.
[Be strong by keeping, learning, and being a doer of Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]
14 Follow peace with all men, [Have and pursue peace with all mankind.] and holiness, [Sanctification] without which no man shall see the Lord:
[Sanctification meaning to be made pure, morally blameless, purified by the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross for you.]
15 Looking diligently [To the Lord] lest [So there will not be] any man fail of the grace [The unmerited favor] of God; lest [So there will not be] any root of bitterness [In the church] springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
[Defiled by sin and turning away from Yahveh.]
[Deuteronomy 29:18-22 gives us a look into what Yahveh [God] thinks about people turning their backs on Him. Let’s go there.]
Deuteronomy 29:18-22
18 Lest there should [So there will not] be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart [Mind] turneth [Turns] away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root [Person] that beareth [Bears] gall [Poison] and wormwood;
[A person who turns away from Yahveh [God] is cursed.]
19 And it come to pass, when he heareth [Hears] the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, [Thinking the way I do] to add drunkenness to thirst:
[He or she is kidding their self when they think that way, and they will be in a stupor because of the way they think.]
20 The LORD will not spare him, [Or her] but then the anger of the LORD and His jealousy shall smoke [Be angry] against that man, [Or woman] and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
[In other words Yahveh [God] will remove his or her name out the book of life at that time.]
21 And the LORD shall separate him [Or her] unto [To] evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant [Contract] that are written in this book of the law:
[The curses are written in Deuteronomy 28:15-68.]
[The blessings for doing Yahveh’s [God’s] will are written in Deuteronomy 28:1-15.]
22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath [Has] laid upon it;
[Let’s return to Hebrews 12:16.]
16 Lest there [So there will not] be any fornicator, [Male prostitute] or profane [Wicked] person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
[Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. He didn’t care about his birthright. Don’t you sell yourself to satan.]
17 For ye [You] know how that afterward, when he [Esau] would have inherited the blessing, [The blessing of the firstborn. Esau was the firstborn, and the blessing was his.] he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
[Esau cried but didn’t repent; he didn’t have a change of mind. He wanted to change his earthly fathers mind as written in Genesis 27:34-38. He didn’t care about his heritage, and he didn’t care about Yahveh.]
18 For ye [You] are not come unto [To] the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
[Paul is talking about Mount Sinai, when Yahveh [God] gave Moses the Ten Commandments.]
19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated [Begged] that the word should not be spoken to them any more:
[In other words when they heard Yahveh’s [God’s] voice while at the base of the mountain it scared them so much that they didn’t want to hear His voice again.]
20 [For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: [A Javelin] This is written in Exodus 19:12&13. Let’s go there.]
Exodus 19:12&13
12 And thou [Moses] shalt set bounds [A boundary] unto the people round about, saying, Take heed [Be careful] to yourselves, that ye [You] go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth [Touches] the mount shall be surely put to death:
13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he [Or she] shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth [Sounds] long, they [Man and woman] shall come up to the mount.
[Let’s return to Hebrews 12:21.]
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:
22 But ye [You] are come unto [To] mount Sion, and unto [To] the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
[Innumerable meaning ten thousand, or an indefinite number. There are going to be many angels there. This will happen in the future to people [Souls] that believe in and obey Jesus Christ.]
23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, [The first born are Yahveh’s [God’s] elect, the first people [Souls] that overcame satan.] which are written in heaven, [Their names are written in the lambs book of life.] and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just [Innocent, holy, righteous] men made perfect,
[They are people [Souls] who are justified. They know the truth. They are Yahveh’s [God’s] elect, and they are the remnant that overcame in the first earth age that was. They are written of in Ephesians 1:3-12. Let’s go there.]
Ephesians 1:3-12
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath [Has] blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as He [Yahveh] hath [Has] chosen us [We didn’t volunteer] in Him before the foundation of the world, [Before the foundation of the world meaning before the overthrow of satan.] that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:
5 Having predestinated [Predetermined] us [The Elect] unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, [He adopted us] according to the good pleasure of His will,
[According to His plan.]
6 To the praise of the glory of His grace, [His unmerited favor] wherein He hath [Has] made us accepted in the beloved.
[He made us first fruits in Jesus Christ.]
7 In whom we have redemption [The price was paid] through His blood, [By Jesus Christ shedding His blood on the cross for us.] the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;
[Grace meaning His mercy, His love, and unmerited favor.]
8 Wherein He hath [Has] abounded [Been more abundant] toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
[In other words He has given us more moral Insight, He is with us.]
[Wisdom is what is written in The King James Bible.]
9 Having made known unto [To] us the mystery of His will, [His thoughts] according to His good pleasure which He hath [Has] purposed in Himself:
[Yahveh/Jesus Christ knew it, and He planned it.]
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times [This last generation] He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated [Predetermined 1st earth age Elect.] according to the purpose of Him [Yahveh] who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will:
[In other words according to His plan. All things happen just as Yahveh [God] has them planned.]
12 That we [The Elect] should be to the praise of His glory, who first trusted in Christ. [In the first earth age that was.]
[Let’s return to Hebrews 12:24.]
24 And to Jesus the mediator [Your go between] of the new covenant, [New Testament] and to the blood of sprinkling, [The blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross for you.] that speaketh [Speaks] better things than that of Abel.
[Abel’s blood cried out for vengeance. The blood of Jesus Christ was shed to bring salvation [Eternal life] to all those who will obey Him, people [Souls] who do His will so their repentance of sins will be acceptable to Yahveh.]
25 See that ye [You] refuse not Him [Yahveh] that speaketh. [Speaks] For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake [Spoke] on earth, [They didn’t listen to Moses and were slain.] much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him [Jesus Christ] that speaketh [Speaks] from heaven:
[Jesus Christ is at the right hand of Yahveh [God] offering salvation [Eternal life] and peace of mind to all people who put Him first in their lives by doing His will. People who turn away from Him have not escaped His wrath.]
[Yahveh/ Jesus Christ’s will is for you to learn and become a doer of His word.]
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: [Yahveh [God] shook the earth at satan’s rebellion, at the overthrow as written in Jeremiah 4:19-28.] but now He hath [Has] promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
[Yahveh [God] is going to shake this earth again after The Great White Throne Judgment.]
[Yahveh [God] destroyed the first earth age instead of His children, and then He brought in this earth age having His children born through woman. He did this so His children by believing, obeying, and doing the will of Jesus Christ could have eternal life. Yahveh [God] forgives His children for their sins upon repentance and gives them the opportunity to get satan out of their lives.]
27 And this word, [Yahveh’s [God’s] word] Yet once more, signifieth [Signifies] the removing [Sifting] of those things that are shaken, [The rudiments, the evil things of this world are the things that will be shaken.] as of things that are made, [Created by man] that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
[A righteous man or woman can’t be shaken.]
[As it is written in 2 Peter 3:10 the evil things of this earth are going into the lake of fire. Let’s go there.]
2 Peter 3:10
10 But the day [The millennium, a thousand year period of time] of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; [No one will expect Him.] in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements [Wicked, bad things on earth] shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
[Yahveh [God] is going to cleanse this earth, and there will be peace. People who know the word of Yahveh [God] will not be shaken. Build your house on a rock, our rock is Jesus Christ. Learn His word, His doctrine, and don’t be washed away in the storm by the doctrine of man. At the 6th trump, the 6th vial, and the 6th seal satan is going to be shaken from Heaven to this earth to deceive people who are ignorant of Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]
[Let’s return to Hebrews 12:28.]
28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom [The King and His dominion] which cannot be moved, [The Kingdom of Yahveh [God] is solid.] let us have grace, [Unmerited favor on repentance] whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: [Fear meaning love]
29 For our God is a consuming fire.
[If you are part of the flame you can’t be burned. As it was said by our Lord Jesus Christ and written in St. Matthew 10:28 quote; [“and fear not them which kill the body, [Flesh body] but are not able to kill the soul: [Your soul is you] but rather fear him [Yahveh] which is able to destroy [Blot out] both soul and body [Spiritual Body] in hell.”]
[Destroyed in the lake of fire because as it is written in Revelation 20:14 hell is going to be cast into the lake of fire.]
