Hebrews 8
8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: [This is what it adds up to.] We have such an high priest, [Jesus Christ] who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, [Holy place] and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
[Not as the one that was made by Moses of material things. Jesus Christ is the true tabernacle.]
[As it is written in St. John 2:19 Jesus Christ said destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. He was talking about His body. Also in Revelation 21:24 in the eternal city, the Lord almighty, and the Lamb are the temple of it.]
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this Man [Jesus Christ] have somewhat also to offer.
[Jesus Christ offered Himself on the cross as a sin offering for your sins for one and all times.]
4 For if He [Jesus Christ] were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
[It wouldn’t be His duty because He was Emanuel, Yahveh [God] with us in a flesh body. It was the priest’s duty to try to pacify Yahveh [God] for the sins of the people.]
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith [Said] He, [Yahveh] that thou [You] make all things according to the pattern shewed [Showed] to thee [You] in the mount. [Mountain]
[Yahveh [God] gave Moses instruction on how to make it piece by piece because it was to be a copy of the tabernacle to come in the future.]
6 But now hath [Has] He [Jesus Christ] obtained a more excellent ministry, [A more excellent ministry then the killing of animals for sacrifice for the sins of the people.] by how much also He is the mediator [A go between, a intercessor] of a better covenant, [The covenant of repentance and forgiveness of sins.] which was established upon better promises.
[Jesus Christ didn’t do away with the old law but became our kinsman redeemer, that by putting Him first in your life by doing His will, and obeying Him you can make a good repentance, and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness in His name, and be forgiven for your sins. The old law did not do this.]
[It is Yahveh’s [God’s] will for you to learn and become a doer of His word in order for you to be granted eternal life.]
7 For if that first covenant [The laws and promises in The Old Testament] had been faultless, [Mankind was at fault because they couldn’t keep Yahveh’s [God’s] law.] then should no place have been sought for the second.
[If the first covenant had been faultless there would have been no need for The New Testament and the promises and the new commandment therein. The new commandment is to repent of your sins, and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness of your sins in the name of Jesus Christ. This is not saying the old law is done away with. As written in St. Matthew 5:17-19 they are not done away with. They are legally binding and valid. Let’s go there.]
St. Matthew 5:17-19
17 Think not that I [Jesus Christ] am [Have] come to destroy [Pull down] the law, or the prophets: [The Old Testament] I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[Jesus Christ became our blood sacrifices and our Sabbath. We rest in Him everyday.]
18 For verily [Truly] I say unto [To] you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot [The smallest Hebrew letter.] or one tittle [The merest ornament] shall in no wise [No way] pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
[All will not be fulfilled until at least the end of this earth age and the end of the millennium. The millennium is the one thousand year period between the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and when satan will be turned loose for a short season to deceive whomsoever he will just before The Great White Throne Judgment.]
19 Whosoever [Anyone that] therefore shall break one of these least [Shortest] commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, [Teach people the law] the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[Let’s return to Hebrews 8:8]
8 For finding fault with them, [The old laws and promises] He saith, Behold, the days come, saith [Says] the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
[Yahveh [God] made the new covenant in The New Testament.]
9 Not according to the covenant [The old laws and promises] that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; [Yahveh [God] took care of them.] because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not, saith [Said] the Lord.
[They turned their back on Yahveh, so He turned His back on them. That is the way it is today. IF you don’t put Him first in your life by sincerely doing His will to the best of your ability [We are not perfect] He will turn His back on you.]
10 For this [The new covenant] is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith [Said] the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: [They will be permanent.] and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:
[This hasn’t happened. It will happen during the millennium in the one thousand year period after Jesus Christ returns to earth. People will know the word, and they will be taught discipline. They will be educated on how to obey Yahveh.]
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.
[All people will know Jesus Christ when He returns to earth on the first day of the millennium. Discipline will help people to obey Yahveh. Discipline causes love that grows from within people.]
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, [Yahveh [God] will be merciful because He loves His children. He will have mercy on those who don’t do His will when they repent.] and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
[When you sincerely repent of a sin and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ He forgets about that sin. He doesn’t hold it against you. If you have truly repented in your heart Yahveh [God] doesn’t want to hear it again. He makes you a new citizen giving you a fresh start in the many membered body of Jesus Christ.]
13 In that He saith, [Said] A new covenant, [In the New Testament] He [Jesus Christ] hath [Has] made the first [First Covenant] old. Now that which decayeth [Decays] and waxeth [Grows] old is ready to vanish away.
[The old tabernacle [Tent] in which the blood sacrifices were made for the sins of the people at that time is gone. Jesus Christ became the last blood sacrifice. He is the perfect sacrifice because His blood was pure all the way back to Adam and Eve. He sacrificed His blood on the cross for you, so that through Him you could repent of your sins and be forgiven IF you put Him first in your life and do His will. He promised you if you repent it is over and done with, and you are forgiven. He doesn’t want to hear about it again.]
Hebrews 9
In this chapter Yahveh [God] is teaching us thru Paul, giving us a short look at the old tabernacle and likens it to what it means to us today and what you should see and feel.]
9:1 Then verily [Truly] the first covenant [In the Old Testament] had also ordinances [Ceremonies] of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
[It was a worldly sanctuary. Jesus Christ is now our sanctuary. The word sanctuary meaning sacred thing, a holy place, holiest of all.]
2 For there was a tabernacle [Tent] made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. [The Holy place]
[The candlestick gives light, signifying the giving of direction to the people. Jesus Christ is now our candlestick. He is the light of the world, and He gives us direction in everything we do. Jesus Christ is the sanctuary made without hands who sits at the right hand of Yahveh.]
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
[The chief priest could enter in past the 2nd veil once a year.]
4 Which had the golden censer, [A place to burn incense] and the ark [Box] of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, [At the top of the ark was the mercy seat, the seat where Jesus Christ would sit.] wherein was the golden pot that had manna, [Angels food] and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
[The tables of the covenant are the Ten Commandments.]
[Revelation 11:19 tells us where the ark is now. It is in Heaven.]
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing [Protecting] the mercyseat; [The mercy seat wasn’t part of the ark, it was over it.] of which we cannot now speak particularly.
[It’s impossible to put into words to discuss it.]
[satan was a cherubim. He decided he was going to sit on the mercy seat, and he decided that he was going to be Jesus Christ [Yahveh]. This is written of in Ezekiel chapter twenty eight. satan started the whole problem by doing so. satan didn’t love Yahveh [God] and Yahveh [God] will not force anyone to love him.]
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, [Approved for worship, prepared for that purpose.] the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. [Like churches, only in a worldly way today.]
7 But into the second [Behind the 2nd veil] went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, [He took blood with him.] which he offered for himself, [Because he wasn’t perfect] and for the errors [Sins] of the people:
[The high priest did this on the Day of Atonement. The word atonement meaning to cover your sins. Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross for the atonement of sins for all people, and your sins will be covered [Blotted out] if you can make a good repentance.]
8 The Holy Ghost [Holy Spirit] this signifying, [Teaching us] that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, [Made known] while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:
[Jesus Christ was not made known until the first tabernacle was gone. The way to the Holiest of all is through our Lord Jesus Christ.]
9 Which was a figure [Example] for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; [Moral consciousness]
[Only Jesus Christ can make you perfect. IF you are a doer of His word you can repent of your sins and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness of your sins and be forgiven. At that instant you are perfect in Jesus Christ/ Yahveh’s eyes.]
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers [Different] washings, and carnal [Fleshly] ordinances, [In other words ceremonial traditions of men] imposed on them until the time of reformation.
[The word reformation meaning to set straight the new order of things after Jesus Christ died on the cross for you. He sets it straight today, you either believe and obey Him or you don’t. If you obey Him you have eternal life. IF you don’t obey Him you will be taught discipline in the millennium age. After the millennium age you will be judged at The Great White Throne Judgment as to if you obeyed Jesus Christ. People [Souls] that haven’t obeyed our Lord Jesus Christ before The Great White Throne Judgment will be cast into the lake of fire and suffer the second death. A person’s second death is the death of their soul. They will simply not exist. People [Souls] who put Jesus Christ first in their lives and obey Him in the millennium age will be granted eternal life. When Jesus Christ returns at the Second Advent He will continue to set things [People] straight until The Great White Throne Judgment.]
11 But Christ [Yahshua] being come an High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
[Not a tent. The tabernacle they carried with them in the wilderness was a tent. Jesus Christ’s body is the tabernacle now, and it is perfect.]
[The good things to come are salvation, eternal life thru Jesus Christ, peace of mind, and blessings and rewards today and blessings and rewards in the future in Heaven forever IF you obey Him before your flesh body dies.]
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by His own blood He entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
[In other words Jesus Christ shed His blood one time on the cross for us all for the redemption of our sins.]
[The word redemption means to ransom, meaning He shed his blood so you can be forgiven for your sins.]
[In summing up the Epistle of Paul to the Hebrews back to chapter two, verse fourteen, Yahveh [God] came to earth in a flesh body as Jesus Christ to shed His blood to destroy death which is satan. If you are doing the will of satan at the time of The Great White Throne Judgment you will suffer the death of your soul, you will cease to exist. When you believe in and obey Jesus Christ He destroys death as far as your name is concerned in The Book of Life. You have eternal life when death is destroyed out of your life. Jesus Christ is the way, He is our kinsman redeemer, He atones for our sins, and He takes care of you IF you put Him first in your life by doing His will. His will is for you to learn and become a doer of His word.]
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth [Would make us holy] to the purifying of the flesh: [If this would do it symbolically.]
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit [The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Yahveh.] offered Himself without spot to God, [Jesus Christ was and is perfect.] purge your conscience from dead works [Dead works meaning The Old Testament way of atonement for sins by sacrifices.] to serve the living God?
[No more work for sacrifices]
[Stay away from carnal ordinances, traditions of men, and anything else that make’s void the word of Yahveh. Stay away from anything that take’s away from Jesus Christ dying on the cross for you.
It is a disgrace to make a religion out of ceremonial days and any certain day of the week. It is a disgrace because Jesus Christ became our Sabbath and we rest in Him every day of the week. Jesus Christ became our Passover and He is the reason the death angel [satan] must pass over us.]
The feast of Tabernacles and the feasts of Booths is to remind us of Passover wherein Jesus Christ died on the cross for us once, inviting all people to enter into Heaven through Him.]
15 And for this cause [Reason] He is the mediator [Go between, reconcile r] of the new testament, [Because He died once for sin for eternity.] that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [Sin] that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
[The promise of atonement of sins, eternal life, and rewards in Heaven forever IF you obey Jesus Christ. Yahveh [God] owns everything. Will you be part of His will?]
16 For where a testament [Will, contract] is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. [Contractor]
[Until the contractor dies you don’t receive anything. Jesus Christ died on the cross for you so you could receive the inheritance. All you have to do is obey Him.]
17 For a testament [Will or a contract] is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. [Lives]
[Until Jesus Christ died on the cross for mankind the will and the deed to completeness was not available to most people because of their sin.]
18 Whereupon neither the first testament [Contract] was dedicated without blood.
[In other words it didn’t purify without blood.]
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept [Commandment] to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, [Poor mans wine] and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
[The sprinkling of the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, [Poor mans wine] was a foreshadow of things to come. A foreshadow of the blood Jesus Christ shed on the cross for your sins and becoming your Passover and your sabbath. We as Christians rest in Him every day.]
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament [Contract] which God hath [Has] enjoined unto [To] you. [Made for you.]
21 Moreover he [Moses] sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, [Tent] and all the vessels of the ministry. [He covered it all.]
22 And almost all things are by the law purged [Cleansed] with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. [No remission of sin]
[Jesus Christ shed His blood for you, for the remission of your sins. The word remission meaning forgiveness, deliverance.]
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; [The blood of caves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and poor mans wine as written in Chapter nine, verse nineteen.] but the heavenly things themselves with better [Nobler] sacrifices than these.
[The blood of Jesus Christ was the noblest blood there ever was and He sacrificed it for you on the cross.]
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, [Man made things are not perfect.] which are the figures of the true; [They look good] but into heaven itself, [At the right hand of Yahveh] now to appear in the presence of God for us: [As our mediator, as our kinsman redeemer, and our advocate.]
[Jesus Christ did it for you. He died for you and He loves you and wants you to love Him.]
25 Nor yet [It’s not necessary] that He should offer Himself often, [Once a year] as the high priest entereth [Entered] into the holy place every year with blood of others; [With the blood of animals.]
26 For then must He [Jesus Christ] often have suffered since the foundation of the world: [Foundation meaning since the overthrow of satan.] but now once in the end of the world [This world age] hath [Has] He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice [On the cross] of Himself.
[Jesus Christ sacrificed himself on the cross for you so you could repent of your sins, and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness of your sins in the His name and be forgiven unto eternal life.]
[By repenting and asking Yahveh [God] for forgiveness in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ you become perfect in His eyes and become acceptable to Him. By being acceptable to Him His contract and will to you is in effect.]
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
[The flesh body dies and at that time you go into your spiritual body, and you’re thinking process and your soul which is you goes back to Yahveh [God] where you came from.]
[When your flesh body dies you will be judged as to where you will be in Heaven. You will either be under the altar of Yahveh [God] as those in Revelation 20:4, or a place such as the one written about in St. Luke 16:19-31.
The final judgment is The Great White Throne Judgment at the end of the millennium one thousand years after Jesus Christ returns. The millennium will be a time of teaching to those who didn’t obey Jesus Christ while they were in their flesh bodies. Yahveh [God] will judge you righteous if you have obeyed Him, and you will be in His will, and you will inherit from Him. Judgment is payday, good things to those that obeyed Him, bad things for those that disobeyed Him.]
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; [He died on the cross for you and all mankind.] and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
[Jesus Christ will return to earth at the 2nd advent to save people [Souls] who love Him. Save meaning to give them eternal life.]
