Hebrews 7

7:1 For this Melchisedec, [Melchi meaning King, sedec meaning upright, righteous, the same as zadok in Ezekiel 44:15.] king of Salem, [Peace] priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

[Jesus Christ was Melchisedec in the Old Testament.]

2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

[Jesus Christ will come as King of peace when he returns at the 2nd advent and straightens this world out. Jesus Christ tells us about seeing Abraham in St. John 8:56-59. Let’s go there.]

St. John 8:56-58

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day: and he saw it, and was glad.

57 Then said the Jews unto Him, Thou [You] art [Are] not yet fifty years old, and hast [Have] thou [You] seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said unto [To] them, Verily, [Truly] verily, [Truly] I say unto [To] you, Before Abraham was, I Am.

[I Am is one of Yahveh’s names. God told Joseph in Exodus 3:14&15 that I Am would be His name forever. Jesus Christ was Yahveh, Emanuel Yahveh with us in a flesh body.]

[Jesus was telling the Kenites, the offspring of satan, our enemy, that He was there with Abraham. Jesus Christ said your father to them because Abraham was called father of many nations because thru his seed would come Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ’s blood line [Genealogy] was pure from Adam and Eve until the day He was born in the flesh. Jesus Christ is Yahveh, He is our Father, and He is the Father of all people.]

[Let’s return to Hebrews 7:3]

3 [Melchisedec being] Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth lAbides] a priest continually. [Forever]

4 Now consider [Think about it] how great this Man was, unto [To] whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

5 And verily [Truly] they that are of the sons of Levi, [Levi is the tribe of Israel from which priests are ordained.] who receive the office of the priesthood, [Through Aaron the first high priest.] have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

[Abraham was the father of all nations because Jesus Christ would come through him.]

6 But He [Melchisedec] whose descent [Blood line] is not counted from them [Not counted from the Levites.] received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him [Abraham] that had the promises.

[The promises given to him by Yahveh.]

7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

[In other words he who gives the blessing is greater then those that receive it.]

8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there He receiveth [Recieved] them, of whom it is witnessed that He liveth.

[He lives continually without end.]

9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth [Received] tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

11 If therefore perfection [Think of the word perfection as salvation] were by the Levitical priesthood, [Because the people received the law from the Levitical preasthood.] what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

[There was a need because there was no one who could forgive us for our sins.]

12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

[The law changed because through Jesus Christ you can repent of your sins and be forgiven. Sin is the breaking of Yahveh’s [God’s] law.]

13 For He [Jesus Christ] of whom these things are spoken pertaineth [Pertain] to another tribe, [The tribe of Judah] of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

[Jesus Christ came from the tribe of Judah. None of the tribe of Judah had attended to the altar.]

[From man’s part in the bloodline of Jesus Christ this is true, but Mary the mother of Jesus Christ was a Levite, and her father was of the tribe of Judah.]

14 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; [The tribe of Judah] of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude [Resemblance] of Melchisedec there ariseth [Arose] another priest,

[Another priest would be our Lord Jesus Christ.]

16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal [Fleshly] commandment, but after the power of an endless life. [Eternal life, forever and ever]

17 For He [Yahveh] testifieth, Thou [You] art [Are] a priest for ever [Without ending] after the order of Melchisedec.

18 For there is verily [Truly] a disannulling [Cancellation] of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

[In other words the law made nothing perfect. The law was good; it was man who was bad; mankind could not keep the law.]

19 For the law made nothing perfect, [Man was not made perfect by the Law.] but the bringing in of a better hope did; [The better hope is Jesus Christ.] by the which we draw nigh unto God.

[Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life. He can make you perfect if you follow and obey him. By obeying him you can repent and be forgiven, your sins washed away by the blood He shed on the cross for you, therefore making you perfect in His eyes.]

20 And inasmuch as not without an oath He was made Priest:

[Yahveh [God] gave the oath and the promise.]

21[For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by Him that said unto Him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou [You] art [Are] a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:]

[The oath and the promise are written in Psalm 110:4, written 1000 years before Jesus Christ was born.]

22 By so much was Jesus made a surety [Pledged as a bondsman] of a better testament?

[Testament meaning a contract, a will, a covenant.]

[Jesus Christ paid the price on the cross for you. He is your kinsman redeemer.]

23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

[In other words they were not allowed to continue because their flesh body died.]

24 But this Man, because He continueth [Continues] ever, [Forever] hath [Has] an unchangeable priesthood.

[Jesus Christ lives forever and the word of Yahveh [God] isn’t going to change. Jesus Christ is the same today as He will be tomorrow and the same as He was yesterday.]

25 Wherefore [Because of this] He is able also to save them to the uttermost that comes unto [To] God by Him, seeing He ever liveth [Lives forever] to make intercession for them.

[Jesus Christ is able to give eternal life to everyone who follows and obeys Him. He was born to bring people to Yahveh [God] and to deal with Yahveh [God] for you.]

26 For such an High Priest became us, [Came for us] who is holy, harmless, [Patient and gentile] undefiled, [Sinless] separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

[Jesus Christ is above and over everything.]

27 Who needeth [Needs] not daily, as those high priests, [Mortal, libel to die priests.] to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people: for this He [Jesus Christ] did once, when He offered up himself. [On the cross.]

[Jesus Christ offered Himself up on the cross for your sins when He shed his blood on the cross for you. He did away with all blood sacrifices, including circumcision. He became the last blood sacrifice for one and all time.]

28 For the law maketh [Makes] men high priests which have infirmity; [Sin] but the word of the oath, [Yahveh’s [God’s] oath] which was since the law, maketh [Makes] the Son, who is consecrated [Perfect] for evermore.
