Luke 15

15:1 Then drew near unto Him all the publicans [Tax gatherers] and sinners for to hear Him.

[They wanted to hear what Jesus Christ had to say.]

2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, [That were muttering threateningly] saying, This man receiveth [Receives] sinners, and eateth [Eats] with them.

[The Pharisees and scribes were belittling Him for receiving and eating with sinners.]

3 And He [Jesus] spake [Spoke] this parable unto [To] them, [To the Pharisees and scribes] saying,

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth [Does] not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, [Lost sinners who are away from Yahveh.] until he find it?

[Jesus Christ wants to save all of His children. Yahveh’s [God’s] word is for everyone.]

5 And when he hath [Has] found it, he layeth [Lays] it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

[The man carries it home, just like Jesus Christ will carry you home.]

6 And when he cometh [Gets] home, he calleth [Calls] together his friends and neighbours, saying unto [To] them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

[We are lost without Jesus Christ.]

7 I say unto [To] you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, [Repents] more than over ninety and nine just [Righteous] persons, which need no repentance. [For sin]

[A righteous person is a person who does what is right according to Yahveh.]

8 Either [Or on the other hand] what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth [Does] not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently [Carefully] till she find it?

[Jesus Christ is explaining why He went among sinners. Jesus Christ doesn’t want to lose any of His children. He cares about you and all of His Children.]

9 And when she hath [Has] found it, she calleth [Calls] her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice [Be happy] with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

[In other words Jesus Christ is happy when He can save one sinner.]

10 Likewise, I say unto [To] you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. [Repents of a sin.]

[Every time someone repents Yahveh’s [God’s] angels know about it. They know what is happening on earth.]

11 And He [Jesus] said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods [Moveable goods] that falleth to me. And he divided unto [To] them his living.

[In other words he gave his youngest son that which sustained him in this flesh life on earth. The younger son was turning his back on his father.]

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, [Gathered together his substance of goods.] and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

[He was living in the fast lane.]

14 And when he had spent all, [All his money] there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want. [He was hungry]

[The word famine meaning there was no food to eat.]

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; [He joined himself to satan.] and he [satan] sent him into his fields to feed swine.

[Swine are the lowest carnal flesh on earth. It is against Yahveh’s [God’s] food laws to eat pork.]

16 And he would fain [He was longing to] have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto [To] him.

[He’s hungry and satan doesn’t have anything good to give anyone.]

17 And when he came to himself, [In other words he finally came to his senses and decided that he would be much better off with his father then with satan.] he said, [To himself] How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, [They have much bread] and I perish with hunger!

[In other words my father’s slaves have much more to eat then I do. They have the good things in life. satan gives me nothing.]

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto [To] him, [This is what he is going to say to his Father.] Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, [You]

[The young lad has been worshiping satan and is now going to repent and turn back to Yahveh. He has seen the light.]

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy [Your] son: make me as one of thy [Your] hired servants.

[He’s not picking the high seat. He just wants to be with his Father Yahveh, and he is going back to his Father humble.]

[In verse 20 Jesus Christ is responding to what the Pharisees and scribes were muttering about in Chapter fifteen verse two.]

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

[His father is symbolic of our Heavenly Father. He loves His children.]

21 And the son said unto [To] Him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy [Your] sight, and am no more worthy to be called Thy [Your] son.

[He is repenting to his Father.]

22 But the father said to His servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

[Yahveh [God] forgave him and gave him His signet ring. Yahveh [God] restored him completely.]

[That is what Yahveh [God] will do for you if you put Jesus Christ first in your life by doing His will. Yahveh [God] wants you to put Him first in your life. He wants you to learn His word and obey Him just like you want your children to obey you. He wants you to repent of your sins and ask Him for forgiveness of your sins in the name of Jesus Christ.]

[Yahveh/Jesus Christ died on the cross so He could forgive you of your sins.]

[The Father continues.]

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

[This is symbolic of what happens in Heaven when a sinner repents.]

24 For this My son was dead, [In other words His son was spiritually dead, libel to die.] and is alive again; [He has the Holy Spirit and therefore eternal life.] he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. [They were happy.]

[As long as you are in your flesh body it is never to late to repent of your sin and be forgiven.]

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh [Close] to the house, he heard musick [Music] and dancing.

[They were having as party.]

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

[He wanted to know what was going on.]

27 And he [The servant] said unto [To] him, Thy [Your] brother is come; and thy [Your] father [Meaning Yahveh] hath [Has] killed the fatted calf, because He hath [Has] received him safe and sound.

[Yahveh [God] had the fatted calf killed because he returned to his Father and repented of his sins.]

28 And he [The elder son] was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated [called] him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, [You] neither transgressed I at any time thy [Your] commandment: and yet thou [You] never gavest me a kid, [A fatted calf] that I might make merry with my friends:

[The elder son was a doer of Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]

30 But as soon as this thy [Your] son was come, [Returned home] which hath [Has] devoured thy [Your] living [Spent the money you gave him] with harlots, [Harlot’s are Idolaters, idol worshipers.] Thou [You] hast [Have] killed for him the fatted calf.

[The elder son is not happy.]

[In verse thirty one Yahveh [God] is talking to His Elect. All God’s Elect are sons of Yahveh.]

31 And he [Yahveh] said unto [To] him, [To His Elect] Son, thou [You] art [Are] ever with Me, and all that I have is thine [Yours].

[Yahveh’s [God’s] elect were with Him before the foundation of the world and will be with Him forever.]

[As it is written in Ezekiel 44:28 Yahveh [God] is their inheritance. Everything Yahveh [God] has is theirs.]

32 It was meet [Necessary] that we should make [Be] merry, [Happy] and be glad: for this thy [Your] brother was dead, [He was spiritually dead.] and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

[The younger son repented of his sins. He turned back to Yahveh [God] and therefore has The Holy Spirit with him and eternal life abiding in him.]
