THE REVELATION
OF ST. JOHN THE DEVINE
The book of Revelation was written by St. John. St. John was also the author of the book of St. John and the three epistles of John. St. John was known in the New Testament as the one Jesus Christ loved. He was one of Jesus Christ’s disciple’s and was with Jesus Christ throughout His ministry.
The word Revelation meaning to reveal and uncover, to be made known. As it is written in 2 Timothy 3:16&17 all scripture is given by the inspiration of God, [Yahveh] and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man [Or woman] of God [Yahveh] may be perfect, [Perfect meaning mature] thoroughly furnished unto all good works. [Thoroughly furnished with wisdom from Yahveh [God] which leads to good works for Yahveh.]
Most of the words in boxes are added by Pastor John Gardner to teach Yahveh’s [God’s] word to you as it is written in the King James Bible according to the Greek manuscripts from which the New Testament of the King James Bible was translated.
Revelation 1
1:1 The Revelation [The uncovering] of Jesus Christ, which God [Yahveh] gave unto [To] Him, to shew [Point out] unto [To] His servants things which must shortly [Shortly meaning with speed.] come to pass; and He sent and signified [Indicated] it by His angel unto [To] His servant John:
[Yahveh [God] sent the book of Revelation to be known by His servants.]
2 Who bare record [St. John bare witness] of the word of God, [Yahveh] and of the testimony [Witness] of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
[St. John bare witness of the word of Yahveh [The book of Revelation] to show you what you are supposed to be doing, and what is going to happen in the end times just before Jesus Christ returns, and what will happen after He returns so you will know Yahveh’s [God’s] plan.]
3 Blessed [Happy] is he that readeth, [Reads] and they that hear [With understanding] the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
[In other words the time is getting close.]
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [Favor] be unto [To] you, and peace, from him [From Yahveh/Jesus Christ] which is, and which was, and which is to come; [Yahveh/Jesus Christ is returning soon.] and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; [Before Yahveh’s [God’s] throne.]
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince [Ruler] of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
[Jesus Christ shed his blood on the cross for you so that you can repent of your sins and be forgiven. Your sins will not be forgiven unless you put him first in your life by sincerely doing his will to the best of your ability. Jesus Christ’s will is for you to learn and become a doer of His word. I say to the best of your ability because none of us are perfect which is why Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross for our sins. We can repent of our sins and ask Yahveh [God] for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ and be forgiven unto eternal life. Your sins have to be forgiven in order for you to be given eternal life.]
6 And hath [Has] made us kings and priests unto God [Yahveh] and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion [Mighty power and strength.] for ever and ever. Amen.
[Yahveh’s [God’s] elect will become priests of Yahveh [God] after Jesus Christ returns at the 2nd advent. [The second coming of Jesus Christ.] The kings are the elect of the Gentiles as written in Revelation 21:24. Gentiles are all nations other then the twelve tribes of Israel.]
7 Behold, He [Jesus Christ] cometh [Will come] with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced Him: [The people that crucified him will also see Him.] and all kindreds [All kindreds meaning all races and tribes, everybody] of the earth shall wail [Beat their breasts in grief.] because of Him. Even so, Amen.
[Everybody will see Jesus Christ when He returns because they will be in their spiritual bodies at that time.]
[Amen means that’s that, that’s the way it’s going to be.]
[As it is written, every knee will bow to Jesus Christ when He returns to Earth.]
8 I am Alpha and Omega, [Alpha and omega are the first and last letter of the Greek alphabet. The Lord is saying is He is all of everything.] the beginning and the ending, saith [Says] the Lord, [This is Jesus Christ speaking.] which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
[Jesus Christ was in the beginning with Yahveh. He is Yahveh [God] as documented in St. John 1:1 in comparison to St. John 1:14. He was Emanuel, Yahveh [God] with us in a flesh body.]
9 I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, [Trouble] and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle [Island] that is called Patmos, for the word of God, [Yahveh] and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
[Actually John was in prison on the Island called Patmos in approximately 90-95 AD because of his teachings of Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]
[In chapter’s 1, 2, and 3 John will be on earth. At the beginning of chapter 4 he is going to be taken to the present day Heaven; at the same time he will in the Lords day to show us what is going to happen at the end of the Lords day.]
[We are told of the Lord’s Day in 2 Peter 3:8-10. To document what the Lords day is let’s go there.]
2 Peter 3:8-10
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day
9 The Lord is not slack [Slow] concerning His promise, [He keeps His word.] as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering [He has much patience] to us-ward, [To His children] not willing that any should perish, [Be fully destroyed] but that all should come to repentance. [He’s waiting]
10 But the day [The millennium, a thousand year period of time.] of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; [Because most people won’t expect it.] in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements [The wickedness on earth] shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works [The works that are evil.] that are therein shall be burned up
[Most people, including Christians will not be expecting Jesus Christ when He returns because satan will have appeared five months earlier and deceived them into believing he is Jesus Christ.]
[Let’s return to Revelation 1:10.]
10 I [St. John] was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,
[The Lords day begins when Jesus Christ returns. It is a 1000 year period of time beginning when He returns. I call it the millennium age. St. John was brought into the future to see things that happened before, during, and after that day so he could be a witness to you of what the future is.]
11 Saying, [Yahveh [God] is speaking here] I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou [You] seest, [See] write in a book, [St. John wrote what he saw in this book of Revelation.] and send it unto [To] the seven churches which are in Asia; unto [To] Ephesus, and unto [To] Smyrna, and unto [To] Pergamos, and unto [To] Thyatira, and unto [To] Sardis, and unto [To] Philadelphia, and unto [To] Laodicea.
[There are seven churches here. Number seven in biblical numerics means spiritual completeness because there are seven spirits of Yahveh.]
12 And I [St. John] turned to see the voice that spake [Spoke] with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks;
[Seven golden candlesticks symbolize the seven churches, symbolizing light.]
13 And in the midst [Middle] of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, [He looked like Jesus Christ.] clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps [Breast] with a golden girdle.
[It was Jesus Christ.]
14 His head and His hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; [Showing purity] and His eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And His feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; [They were perfect] and His voice as the sound of many waters. [Many people]
16 And He had in his right hand seven stars: [The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches. Keep in mind this is an analogy.] and out of His mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: [His word] and His countenance [Appearance] was as the sun shineth in His strength.
[He was pure white.]
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid his right hand upon me, saying unto [To] me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:
[If you are putting Jesus Christ first in you life as St. John did you have no reason to fear Yahveh [God] because Yahveh [God] loves His children and will not hurt those that love Him.]
18 I am He that liveth, and was dead; [He was crucified by the Kenites.] and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; [Amen means and that is that, that is the truth.] and have the keys of hell and of death.
[Yahveh/Jesus Christ is the way you overcome death and hell. You overcome death by putting Him first in your life by doing his will. His will is for you to learn and become a doer of His word. Keep in mind we are not perfect. Only Yahveh/Jesus Christ is perfect.]
[Hell is where the rich man from ill-gotten gains went when his flesh body died. It is written of in St. Luke 16:19 -31.]
19 Write the things which thou [You] hast [Have] seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
[Yahveh [God] is telling John to write down the things which will happen before, during, and after the Lords day. John will see what is going to happen before, during, and after the Lords day, and he is going to tell you what he saw in this book of Revelation.]
20 The mystery [Secret symbol] of the seven stars which thou [You] sawest [Saw] in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. [Yahveh [God] is going to explain what they are.]The seven stars are the angels [Messengers from Yahveh] of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou [You] sawest [Saw] are the seven churches.
[The seven candlesticks symbolize light. Yahshua [Jesus Christ] is the light of the world and all churches should be bringing forth that light by teaching Yahveh’s [God’s] word, and doctrine correctly.]
[As you or we start chapter two and the other chapters don’t forget that the book of Revelation is going to reveal to us the things written of in chapter one. Also keep in mind what these churches have been doing and teaching. You may recognize that you are going to one of them. Five of them were not pleasing to Yahveh. Two of them were pleasing to Yahveh, and the two that were pleasing to Yahveh [God] are the church of Smyrna and the church of Philadelphia.]
