2 John

1:1 The elder unto the elect lady [Jesus Christ] and Her children, [Jesus Christ’s children are the Elect. They are the Elect from the first earth age and the free will Elect from this earth age.] whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;

[All those that know the truth as St. John taught in the book of St. John.]

2 For the truth’s sake, [For the truth of Yahveh’s [God’s] word.] which dwelleth [Dwells] in us, and shall be with us for ever. [For eternity] I do not say that he shall pray for it.

[You don’t pray for a person who has blasphemed the Holy Spirit.]

3 Grace be with you, [Grace meaning the unmerited favor, love, of Yahveh.] mercy, [Love and compassion] and peace, [Peace of mind] from God [Yahveh] the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love

[The only way you can have peace of mind is to have the Holy Spirit with you.]

4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy [Your] children walking in truth, [St. John has seen them converting others, obeying Yahveh [God] and doing His will.] as we have received a commandment from the Father.

[The commandment is that we be doers of Yahveh’s [God’s] commandments.]

5 And now I beseech thee, [I give you a warning.] lady, [Lady symbolically means the bride of Jesus Christ, people that have put Jesus Christ first in their lives.] not as though I wrote a new commandment unto [To] thee, [You] but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

[There isn’t any new commandment because Yahveh’s [God’s] word never changes.]

6 And this is love, that we walk after [Are doers of] His [Yahveh’s/ Jesus Christ’s] commandments

[Verses seven thru eleven is the warning.]

7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

[In verse seven John is talking about false preachers and teachers of Yahveh’s [God’s] word who mislead people by teaching false doctrine such as the rapture doctrine in the name of Jesus Christ; preachers and so called teachers of Yahveh’s [God’s] word that don’t teach Yahveh’s [God’s] word chapter by chapter, verse by verse, precept upon precept. You know the difference by knowing Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]

8 Look to yourselves, [Watch yourself] that we lose not those things which we have wrought, [Worked for] but that we receive a full reward.

[In other words don’t let someone rob you of the rewards and blessings you will have on Earth and in Heaven.]

[Your righteous acts constitute the rewards and blessings you will have in Heaven. Don’t follow someone’s false doctrine because bad acts take away from your righteousness. Put Jesus Christ first in your life by doing His will and you will have blessings and rewards in Heaven.]

9 Whosoever transgresseth, [Goes against, violates] and abideth not [doesn’t stay] in the doctrine [Instructions] of Christ hath [Has] not God. [Yahveh] He that abideth [Stays] in the doctrine of Christ, [In other words he or she that is a doer of the instructions given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ] he [Or she] hath [Has] both the Father and the Son.

[If you don’t know what the doctrine of Jesus Christ is then how do you know what His doctrine is or what doctrine to stay in? To learn the doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ you have to study His word chapter by chapter, verse by verse, precept upon precept.]

[As you should know by comparing St. John 1:1 and St. John 1:14, Yahveh [God] and Yahshua [Jesus Christ] are one and the same. Yahshua [Jesus Christ] was Yahveh [God] with us in a flesh body.]

10 If there come any [Man or woman] unto [To] you, and bring not this doctrine, [The instructions of Jesus Christ.] receive him not into your house, [Or Church house] neither bid [Tell] him God speed: [God speed meaning farewell.]

[In other words don’t become involved with the deceivers.]

11 For he [Or she] that biddeth [Tells] him [Or her] God speed [Farewell] is partaker of his [Or her] evil deeds.

[If you said farewell to a person who is teaching doctrine other then what Jesus gave us in His Bible you evidently were associating with and listening to an evil person.]

12 Having many things to write unto [To] you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto [To] you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

[Many things were spoken face to face that we don’t know about because they were not written.]

13 The children of thy [Your] elect sister greet thee. [You] Amen.

                                                 3 John

1:1 The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

[In the love of truth in Jesus Christ.]

2 Beloved, [Of Christ] I wish [Pray to Yahveh] above all things that thou [You] mayest [May] prosper [Succeed] [In other words I pray to Yahveh [God] that your works for Jesus Christ will succeed] and be in health, even as thy [Your] soul prospereth. [Prospers]

[A person’s soul succeeds because He or she is doing good works for Yahveh.]

3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, [You] even as thou [You] walkest [Walk] in the truth.

[John was happy because Gaius knew Yahveh’s [God’s] word and was fulfilling Yahveh’s [God’s] commandments.]

4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

[It is a great joy to St. John to see people walk in the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ. To walk in the truth of Jesus Christ is to be a doer of His word.]

5 Beloved, thou [You] doest [Do] faithfully whatsoever thou [You] doest [Do] to the brethren, and to strangers;

[In other words you treat them both the same.]

[Evidently Gaius either owned an Inn or was the caretaker of an Inn, and people passing by would stay there.]

6 Which have borne witness [Testified] of thy [Your] charity before the church: [In other words they came home and talked about how well you treated them.] whom if thou [You] bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, [Witness] thou [You] shalt [Shall] do well:

[Evidently Gaius was preaching or planting seeds about The Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. Gaius will do well because Yahveh [God] will see what Gaius is doing and He won’t forget it.]

7 Because that for His [Jesus Christ’s] name’s sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.

[In other words they didn’t become a burden to anyone they taught.]

8 We therefore ought to receive such, [Such means Gentiles, people of all nations other then the twelve tribes of Israel.] that we might be fellow helpers to the truth.

[In other words we should take them in and do our best to teach them Yahveh’s [God’s] word.]

9 I wrote unto [To] the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth [Loves] to have the preeminence [Preeminence meaning he was holier then you, he had to be first.] among them, receiveth [Received] us not.

10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, [Does] prating [Prating meaning babbling mischievously] against us with malicious [Hurtful and evil] words: and not content therewith, neither doth [Does] he himself receive the brethren, [The brethren are true teachers of the word.] and forbiddeth [Prevents] them that would, [Receive the brethren] and casteth [Throws] them out of the church.

[Diotrephes was a no good self righteous hypocrite.]

11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth [Does] good is of God: [Yahveh] but he that doeth [Does] evil hath [Has] not seen God. [Yahveh]

[In other words a person who is a leader of a church and doesn’t teach Yahveh’s [God’s] word is evil.]

[Make sure you are going to Yahveh’s [God’s] church house. Yahveh’s church house is a place that has a teacher who teaches Yahveh’s [God’s] word chapter by chapter, verse by verse, precept upon precept. Yahveh’s [God’s] church house is not a place where the teacher is a two or three verse Charlie who jumps around in scripture and never gets around to teaching Yahveh’s [God’s] word the way it is supposed to be taught.]

12 Demetrius hath [Has] good report of all men, and of the truth itself: [The truth itself is truth in Jesus Christ.] yea, and we also bear record; [Evidence, witness] and ye [You] know that our record [Evidence and witness] is true.

[In other words we know what the true word of Yahveh [God] is, and the prophecies that have to come to pass, and the truth of Jesus Christ because we were with Him.]

13 I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto [To] thee: [You]

[In other words I will not write everything I have to say to you.]

14 But [Because] I trust [Expect that] I shall shortly see thee, [You] and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. [You] Our friends salute [Embrace] thee. Greet the friends by name.
