1 John 4

[Chapter four tells us how to discern spirits.]

4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

[In other words don’t believe everything someone tells you because there are many false teachers of Yahveh’s [God’s] word in the world.]

2 Hereby know ye [You] the Spirit of God: Every spirit [The spirit of man] that confesseth [Confesses] that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

3 And every spirit that confesseth [Confesses] not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, [Anti-christ meaning instead of Christ, satan.] whereof ye [You] have heard that it [The spirit of anti-christ] should come; and even now already is it in the world.

[The spirit of the anti-christ satan is in false teachers, and false prophets. They misguide people by teaching the rapture doctrine and fail to teach Yahveh’s [God’s] word chapter by chapter verse by verse causing people to be Biblical illiterate.]

4 Ye [You] are of God, little children, and have overcome them: [Overcome the false spirits] because greater is He [Jesus Christ] that is in you, than he [The spirit of satan] that is in the world.

5 They are of the world: [The evil part of the world.] therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth [Hears] them.

6 We are of God: he [Or she] that knoweth [Knows] God heareth [Hears] us; he [Or she] that is not of God heareth [Hears] not us. [In other words people that are not of Yahveh [God] won’t listen to us.] Hereby [Because of this] know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth [Loves] is born of God, [Born from above] and knoweth [Knows] God.

8 He that loveth [Loves] not knoweth [Knows] not God; for God is love.

[Yahveh [God] loves His children and wants to give all of them eternal life. Yahveh [God] hates what some people do but He still loves them.]

[Verses 9&10 tell us why Yahveh [God] is love.]

9 In this was manifested [Made known] the love of God toward us, because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, [To die on the cross for you, so that upon your repentance of sin he could forgive you. Now that was love.] that we might live through Him.

[In other words that we might have eternal life thru Him by putting Him first in our lives by doing His will.]

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be the propitiation [Atonement] for our sins.

[Jesus Christ is the atonement for our sins. He is able to cover your sins with the blood He shed on the cross for you upon your repentance. He is able to forgive you of your sins.]

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought [Should] also to love one another.

[We should love one another because we are actually family.]

12 No man hath [Has] seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth [Dwells] in us, and His love is perfected [Complete] in us.

[The reason no one can see Yahveh [God] at this time is written in 1 Corinthians 15:50. Let’s go there.]

1 Corinthians 15:50

50 Now this I [Paul] say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit [Enter] the kingdom of God; neither doth [Does] corruption [Corruption is a flesh body that will decay and rot when it dies.] inherit incorruption. [In other words your flesh body will never be changed into a body that decays and rots. It’s not coming out of a hole in the ground or back from being cremated.]

[The instant your flesh body dies you go into your spiritual body which is incorruptible. If you have been putting Yahveh [God] first in your life by doing His will it is more then likely you will see Yahveh [God] after your flesh body dies.]

[Let’s return to 1 John 4:13.]

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, [In Yahveh] and He [Yahveh] in us, because He hath [Has] given us of His Spirit. [His Holy Spirit]

[Yahveh’s [God’s] gift to you is His Holy Spirit when you are worthy of it.]

14 And we have seen [We were with Jesus Christ.] and do testify [Witness] that the Father sent the Son [Jesus Christ] to be the Saviour of the world.

[Jesus Christ is the only one that can save you. He is the only one who can give you eternal life.]

15 Whosoever shall confess [Acknowledge with their mouth] that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth [Dwells] in Him, and he [Or she] in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath [Has] to us. God is love; and he [Or she] that dwelleth [Dwells] in love dwelleth [Dwells] in God, and God in him. [Or her]

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: [The day we are judged.] because as He is, so are we in this world.

[Yahveh/ Jesus Christ is in the world as the Holy Spirit.]

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth [Throws] out fear: because fear hath [Has] torment. He that feareth [Fears] is not made perfect [Completely mature] in love.

19 We love him, [Yahveh/Jesus Christ] because He first loved us.

[Yahveh [God] is our father. He made us for His pleasure. It is written in Revelation 4:11. Let’s go there.]

Revelation 4:11

11 Thou [You] art [Are] worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou [You] hast [Have] created all things, and for thy [Your] pleasure they are and were created.

[Yahveh [God] created everything. IF it wasn’t for him you wouldn’t be alive.]

[Let’s return to 1 John 4:20.]

20 If a man [Or woman] say, I love God, and hateth [Hates] his brother, [Or sister] he is a liar: for he [Or she] that loveth [Loves] not his [Or her] brother [Or sister] whom he [Or she] hath [Has] seen, how can he [Or she] love God whom he [Or she] hath [Has] not seen?

21 And this commandment have we from Him, [From Yahveh] That he who loveth [Loves] God [Yahveh] love his brother also.
